Twitter2-256Social media, especially Twitter, is a powerful marketing tool. However, with its 140-limited character per post, it can be difficult for some to maximize marketing content in this platform. Here are some tips to expand it:

Extend tweeting frequency by setting an automatic tweet because Twitter never stops, and so are people who are expecting your updates. Frequent tweeting does not mean ‘over hashtaging’. Invest on your posts and messages and campaigns to drive online traffic. Marketing does not mean selling but socializing – remember, be the resource here, not an advertiser. Post interesting contents like photos and links. You can also ask questions for more follower interactions.

Twitter2-256People love photos than texts. This is why visual marketing is more effective than texts. Boosting your social media marketing using visual tags and post will be successful if you know your target market, the things they want to see and how you will reach them – through image tagging. When you use hashtags, use it effectively by identifying the trending ones but do not use the ones that don’t have anything to do with your brand. Lastly, make it accessible and easier for your followers to share your image through networks they are familiar with such as geo-tagging and simple sharing.

It is also advised to schedule your posts to avoid cramming and create focus on what you should importantly be doing. Also, do not accept all followers. Take time to think of your actions and content.

Twitter2-256The Twitter hack on the US Central Command’s account was an embarrassing incident that called for an immediate action.

The incident proved just how poor the security measures on Twitter are especially among accounts that are managed by a team. Obviously, even with multimillion-dollar companies using Twitter for their online campaigns, there isn’t much that the social media platform can offer to minimize risks of security breach other than their two- factor password system that is not that effective. It can be very damaging to everyone who uses Twitter if the network fails to review their tools in providing security to their users.
